Westminster (Place), printed by J. Hayes,, 1822.
8 p. ; 22.5 cm. (4°)

Soane surveyed the buildings attached to Westminster Hall for the purpose of considering the site for a new Court of King's Bench in July 1820. Originally the Court of Exchequer was to have been retained, but its poor condition made demolition necessary. The foundations of the new building were laid in October 1822. See Dorothy Stroud, Sir John Soane architect (2nd ed., London 1996), pp. 221-225. The catalogue of a further sale held by Eversfield the following April is also in Soane's archives (q.v.).
