Daily newspaper. Issue No. 10,817. 'Price Sixpence Halfpenny.'. Red stamp. The Morning Advertiser was first published in 1794 by the Friendly Association of Publicans to assist in establishing a fund for the assistance and relief of their decayed brethren and families (ESTC p2113). Initially devoted to trade interests rather than to the support of any one political party, by the mid-nineteenth century its circulation rivalled that of The Times and The Morning Chronicle.
