Dated 'Oriental Club, 10th May 1836' and signed in ink Wm. Miles. Omitted from the various testimonials to Captain Miles's achievements is the fact that on an expedition from Rangoon in August-September 1824, lieutenant-colonel Miles captured the new state carriage of the king of Ava, exhibited at the Egyptian-Hall in November 1825.
