Includes the 'Statuts Constitutifs', a list of subscribers (amongst the group of Englishmen are Benjamin Gompertz, Viscount Palmerston and Sir John Soane, at 300Fr) and a list of members at 15 March 1834; with an extract from the address of César Moreau on the foundation of the Society in 1829.
Copy Notes The entry for Soane in the list of subscribers is underlined in pink. According to a receipt dated Paris, 31 March 1834, Soane was entitled to the Society's publications for 1831--1832 and 1833 to be delivered by the bookseller Henry Washbourne, 48 Salisbury Square, as a result of his life subscription of 300 francs. (Priv. Corr. XVI.F.134). The folded sheets were found in the third of three repositories containing correspondence, miscellaneous papers and objects, sealed by Soane in November 1836 with directions that they should be opened on 22 November (the anniversary of his wife's death) in 1866, 1886 and 1896 respectively.
