Intended to accompany various editions of The antiquities of England and Wales; vol. II contains a general index 'to the six volumes'. Volume I title-plate dated 1777 in error for 1787, has no volume numbering, and its 'To the public' is dated: '13th Sept. 1787'; vol. II bears volume numbering and is dated 1787. Later reissued with renumbered engraved titlepages. Volume I contains views drawn in 1786. The county maps are hand-coloured. ESTC t218189.
Binding C18th full russia, gilt-dotted borders, gilt double-ruled, direct-lettered spines. Bound as volumes 'V' and 'VI' of Grose's Antiquities of England and Wales (q.v.).
