In the 1790s, Soane reconstructed part of Robert Taylor’s east wing of the Bank of England and built an entirely new extension in the north-east requiring the purchase and demolition of existing dwelling houses.

Copy Notes Interleaved copy with ruled leaves marked up with prices and totals by the page carried forward with Whole amount £176:11:- at end. Upper wrapper inscribed in ink The Honble. Deputy Govn. and / Directors of the Bank of England / by order of J. Soane Esqr / Mr. Ellis. Also in another hand Sale Corner of / Princes Street / Lothbury.
