Lectures by Mr. Jackson on experimental philosophy, Mr. Accum on chemistry and mineralogy, Dr. Davis on the philosophy of the animal economy, and Mr. S. Wesley on music. The Surry Institution for the Diffusion of Science, Literature, and the Arts was founded by subscription in 1807 following after the creation of the Royal Institution and the London Institution, opening its doors on the premises of the former Leverian Museum on Blackfriars Road refurbished by Joseph T.
