Drop-head title. Signed 'Leicester Stanhope, Secretary. Committee Room, London, June, 1826'. Resolution for a subscription in favour of James Silk Buckingham, whose outspoken criticism of the East India Company in the Calcutta Journal in 1823 occasioned the suppression of the newspaper and Buckingham's expulsion from India. He brought a case against the Company in Parliament and in 1834 was awarded an annual pension of £200 p.a. by the Company in compensation.
