Quarter-sheet, folded, final verso blank. Drop-head title. John Britton was the editor. 'A Number, containing eighty pages of Letter-press, with one or more Engravings, chiefly in Outline, will appear on the first day of every month'. The publishers were John Warren; and G. and W.B. Whittaker, London. 'The Work will be printed on fine paper, and carefully and neatly executed in every department. A Number, containing Eighty pages of Letter-press, with one or more Engravings, chiefly in Outline, will appear on the first day of every month.' Only the issues for August and September 1821 (No. IV and V) are in Soane's library (q.v.).
Copy Notes Sent to Soane by Britton enclosed with an accompanying letter dated 22 March 1821, apologizing for the latter's failure to send Soane a Ticket, and undertaking to use his editorial influence in any thing relating to you & your works. The letter is reproduced in A.T. Bolton (ed.), The portrait of Sir John Soane, R.A. (London 1927), pp. 339-340.
