Drop-head title. Parallel texts of the proceedings at the respective meetings held on 1 December, 1813, the Honourable Fraternity meeting at the Crown and Anchor Tavern, the Honourable Society meeting at Freemasons' Hall; and of the Honourable Fraternity who met again on 23 December in the presence of the Duke Of Sussex 'of the other Fraternity'. The two Grand Lodges formally united on 27 December 1813 (q.v.), after four years of negotiations, to form the United Grand Lodge of England. Soane was initiated as a Freemason on 1 December 1813.
