Half-sheet, verso blank. Drop-head title. Watermark dated '1820'. In August 1822 Soane was requested to provide designs for a church to hold 2,000 people with a cost limit of £16,000 after delays on the part of one of the architects whose designs had been selected. See M.H. Port, Six hundred new churches: the Church Building Commission 1818--1856 (Reading : Spire, 2006), p. 76.

Copy Notes Some notes and comments in ink. The final section commencing 'A Premium Of £100 Will Be Given, ...' is struck through in ink. Endorsed in ink Newington Church / From Mr. Clutton / 28 Aug: 1822.
