Drop-head title. Verso blank. Newspaper extract from The Sun subjoining a paragraph from The Morning Post in defence of Soane under attack from 'anonymous malignity'. The proprietor of The Sun newspaper from 1813 to 1825 was John Taylor, one of Soane's closest friends in later life. Taylor also wrote sonnets and other verses to Soane: on his lectures (q.v.), the Pitt cenotaph at the National Debt Redemption Office (q.v.; q.v.), and his anonymous assailants (q.v.).
