Half-sheet, verso blank. Drop-head title. Signed and dated at the end 'Henry Neele. May 8th, 1822'. The literary reference is to Paradise Lost, Book 4, line 453. Edward Hodges Baily, a pupil of John Flaxman, sculpted his 'Eve at the Fountain' in 1813. His highest achievement was the statue of Nelson in Trafalgar Square (1843).
