Folded half-sheet, versos blank. Drop-head title. Page [3] includes a lithographically printed letter from the publishers 'In forwarding the accompanying Prospectus for your perusal ...'. The subscription price was 10s. 6d.; the publishers' letter additionally offered a 'limited number' of proofs on India paper for 15s. The work was published in 1837 with a dedication to Soane (q.v.). Wightwick was briefly employed by Soane in 1826 as an amanuensis and reader, departing in early 1827 due to the architect's difficult character. He later wrote a lively description of Soane. See A.T.
