Colophon on p. 61 reads: 'Romæ MDCCLXII. Typis Generosi Salomoni. Superiorum permissu.' The title-plate, dedication to Pope Clement XIII, large folded plate reproducing the 'Lapides Capitolini' (fragments of a marble map of Rome removed from the Forum in the mid 16th century) and the etched head- and tail-piece illustrations are signed 'Piranesi F.' (or 'fec.')

Copy Notes Bound (1) and possibly originally issued with Piranesi's Antichità di Cora, 1764 (q.v.) and Le rovine del Castello dell'Acqua Giulia, 1761 (q.v.).

Binding C19th calf, gilt-ruled borders, gilt-ruled spine, red spine-label gilt-lettered 'Piranesi / Li Fasti / Antichit. / Di Cora. / Il Castel'. Part of a 12-volume set re-bound by Hood and McCullock, to whom Soane paid £24 on 3 July 1826. (Archive 16/12/38).
