Published in three parts with continuous pagination and register, with separate title-pages to 'Exercitationes Vitrvvianae Secvndae. ...' (leaf S1, dated 1739) and 'Exercitationes Vitrvvianae Tertiae. ...' (leaf 2F1, dated 1741). Poleni's Exercitationes formed the most complete Vitruvian study and anthology of scholarship of its day, including a detailed bibliography of editions (Part 1) and essays, letters and commentaries by Bernardino Baldi, G.B. Bertano, Joannes Buteo, F.C. Cavalieri, M.C. Faventinus, Nicolaus Goldmann, Athanasius Kircher, G.B. Morgagni, Giuseppe Salviati, Claudio Tolomei and Jakob Ziegler (Parts 2--3). Page 242 bears a small cancel slip correcting the figure number. The woodcut title-page devices depict the same image of the erection of a column with motto 'Labore Et Tempore' as that used in the etched vignette of Poleni's Memorie istoriche della gran cupola del Tempio Vaticano, 1748 (q.v.).
