Dedication signed: Stefano Raffei. Issued in a volume of short tracts by Raffei about the Villa Albani that may have been intended by the publisher Generoso Salomoni as an informal supplement to Winckelmann's Monumenti antichi inediti, 2 vols, Rome 1767 (q.v.). Includes 'Osservazione Sopra Un Altro Bassorilievo Della Medesima Villa Albani', pp. [45]--56 (gathering F6). In addition to the present work, the Soane copy contains: Dissertazione sopra un singolar combattimento espresso in bassorilievo esistente nella villa ... Albani, [n.d.] (q.v.), Il nido canzone didascalica sopra un antico nido di marmo esistente nella villa ... Albani ..., 1778 (q.v.) and Osservazioni sopra alcuni antichi monumenti esistenti nella villa ... Albani, 1779 (q.v.). Some copies of this supplementary volume, for example the one in the Warburg Institute, additionally contain Ricerche sopra un Apolline della villa dell'eminentissimo signor Cardinale Alessandro Albani, Rome, 1772.

Binding C18th diced russia, gilt double-rule and roll-tooled borders, gilt tooled and lettered spines with urn motif, marbled edges and endpapers. Bound as vol. III of Winckelmann's Monumenti antichi inediti, 1767 (q.v.). Josiah Taylor was paid 9s. 6d. for binding on 23 November 1804. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.1).
