The first two volumes of Ireland's Hogarth illustrated were first published in 1791 (q.v.). The author (not to be confused with the draughtsman, John Ireland who died c. 1797) owned most of Hogarth's manuscripts which he apparently rewrote with his own additions and corrections for this supplement, 'Vol. III and last' on the engraved title. See R. Paulson, Hogarth: his life, art, and times (London & New Haven 1971), I, xv--xvi. With an errata slip tipped in after page 380. ESTC t2313.

Binding C19th tree calf, simplified gilt Greek key roll-tool borders, gilt-tooled spine with Greek key and rosettes, brown morocco spine-labels, bound 'to patt[ern]' with the first two volumes (q.v.) by Hood and McCullock for 6s. on 5 April 1826. (Archive 16/12/38).
