Drop-head title. Soane was one of the subscribers to History and antiquities of Kensington and its environs, which was published in 1820 (q.v.). The subscription proposal also solicits additional information and contributions from "Gentlemen wishing to contribute Views of their Seats of Houses, Family Portraits or Monuments," the plates for which would be "returned to their respective owners after being used". The price is given as 1 guinea octavo in boards, 2 guineas large paper.
