Copy Notes This or the copy of the first edition was bought on 28 May 1819 for 4s. 6d. through the agency of Soane's footman James[?] (SNB), presumably in preparation for Soane's last journey to Paris in August of that year. In this copy the list of 'Works On Education. Printed for Henry Colburn, ...', pp. [vii]--[viii], is bound at the end.
Binding Bound uniform with the copy of the first edition in contemporary C19th half black morocco, gilt-ruled borders, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine, direct-lettered with title.
