Three editions of An apology for the life of George Anne Bellamy appeared in 1785 (3rd ed., q.v.); the present sixth volume was issued separately in the same year with a dedication to 'an unknown Benefactor' dated 23 April 1785, and added to the various editions to complete the work. Includes 'The Seasons: A Dramatic Entertainment, Written By The Late Mr. Woodward'. Pages 171--181 following the index contain a set of favourable critical reviews from the public magazines. In this edition p. 15 has no press figure; p. 15 line 13 reads 'Insurance-Office'; p. 15 line 22 reads 'inquiry'. The Soane copy as described is without the final five leaves of blanks and advertisements recorded in ESTC. ESTC n5877.

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the half-title. Bound as a set with vols I--V (q.v.).

Binding C19th half dark blue roan, blind double-ruled border, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spines, gilt-lettered. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 7s. 6d., 17 December 1830. (Archives 7/15/8).
