FALDONI, Giovanni Antonio (c. 1690--c. 1770)
Varii disegni inventati dal celebre Francesco Mazzuola detto il Parmigianino tratti dalla raccolta Zanettiana incisi in rame da Antonio Faldoni, e novamente pubblicati.
Venezia 1786.
Engr. t.-pl., [15] engr. pl. ; 52.1 cm. (2º)

Publication dates appear on several plates: 1723, 1724, 1726 or 1735 and most carry dedications to connoisseurs and contemporaries of the engraver and collector Antonio Maria Zanetti the elder. Most of the plates are after the Italian mannerist painter Parmigianino, and engraved by Giovanni Antonio Faldoni. The title-plate is unsigned; the first plate is signed as designed, drawn and engraved in 'Londini' by 'AMZ' (i.e. Antonio Maria Zanetti's monogram). One plate is signed as engraved by 'Andreas Zucchi', and one by 'Carolus Orsolini'.

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the title-plate. Front free-endpaper inscribed in ink 0/18/0 / John Soane / 1805 / A collection of Prints / after Parmegiano, by Faldoni, and in pencil in a curatorial hand (probably Spiers) 15 in number.
