Undated proforma schedules for procurement of carpenters' and joiners' work and supplies, etc. Soane never held the post of Architect to the Board of Ordnance which was created in 1719 and abolished in 1829, but when the Office of Works was reorganized following James Wyatt's death in 1813, Soane was appointed in 1814 with John Nash and Robert Smirke as one of three 'Attached Architects' with responsibility for public buildings, a position held by Soane until 1832; this and other similar, undated Board of Ordnance schedules of contract in the Soane Museum (qq.v.) may possibly date to that time.
Copy Notes Copy 1: Upper cover inscribed in ink John Soane Esqr. Annotated in ink with rates for sections 1--50. Copy 2: Unannotated.
Binding Both copies in C19th limp covers, plain blue paper with white paper spine.
