Criticisms on the Rolliad. Part the second.
London (Place), printed for J. Ridgway,, 1790.
iv, 136 p. ; 21.4 cm. (8º)

Anonymous. The Rolliad consisted of political satires on Pitt in the form of mock reviews of an extensively quoted imaginary epic in heroic couplets on the exploits of Duke Rollo of Normany, which originally appeared spasmodically in the Morning Herald, and are attributed to various authors including Joseph Richardson and Richard Tickell. The collected edition of the first part was first published in 1784 and reached its eighth edition by 1788 (q.v.). This is the first edition of the second part, the delay in which is attributed in the publisher's advertisement to his being deprived of the assistance of the editor of the first part. Additionally includes are 'Political Eclogues' containing 'Rose; Or, The Complaint', 'The Lyars', 'Margaret Nicholson', 'Charles Jenkinson' and 'Jekyll', each with separate half-title. ESTC t133736.

Copy Notes Bound after the eighth edition of the first part (q.v.).

Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt double-ruled spine, red morocco spine-label. The volume was bound by Peter Low for 2s. 3d., 13 February 1808. (Spiers Box).
