The third volume in an annual publication consisting of biographies of famous English and some American men, and a few women, of the day, which commenced publication with a volume for 1798 which had reached its third edition in 1801 (q.v.). The biographies are largely attributed to Alexander Stephens. 'Price Nine Shillings, in Boards' at foot of title-page. With seven final pages of publisher's advertisements.

Copy Notes Bound as vol. III in a set with the volumes for 1798--9 (q.v.), 1799--1800 (q.v.), and 1801--1802 (q.v.); the volume for 1802--1803 was evidently bound separately to match, as vol. V (q.v.).

Binding Early C19th tree calf, gilt-tooled spine, black morocco spine-labels.
