A petition from the theatrical impresario James Dunn, formerly the proprietor of the Royalty Theatre which had been destroyed by fire, seeking to obtain a license 'for a Theatre to be called "The East London Theatre" situate in Cannon Street Road, St George, Middlesex., in response to the increase of population and modern improvements in east London.
Copy Notes Accompanied by a lithographically printed letter dated 'Wycomb Place, Southwark, 1st Septr; 1826', signed in ink James Dunn and addressed To / J. Soane Esq: 'Sir, I take the liberty of enclosing you a Copy of a Petition which it is my intention to present at the ensuing Sessions, ...'.
