Folded half-sheer, first verso and conjugate leaf blank. Drop-head title. Signed in ink H Hatton 'Agent for the Marquis of Chandos. Committee Room, Aylesbury, Dec. 17, 1832.' A printed circular inviting voters in the country to attend a poll at Aylesbury the following Thursday or Friday.
Copy Notes Previously folded as a letter addressed in ink to John Soane junr. Esqre / Lincolns Inn Fields, red postal frank dated 19 December. Soane and his son enjoyed voting rights in the country through Soane's freehold of a property on the Chandos estates. A draft of Soane's reply to Hatton in an office hand, dated 19 Decr. 1832, regrets his inability to attend due to ill health, and adds further that my Son to / whom a Letter was addressed has been dead several years.
