Caption title from letterpress leaf. A suite of 6 etchings bearing the signatures of the draftsman, Antonio Jolli [i.e. Joli], and the publisher-engraver, Filippo Morghen, preceded by the letterpress 'Spiegazione' reprinted from Baron Giuseppe Antonini's La Lucania, Naples 1745, 'par. II, disc. III, pag. 220.' Publication date suggested by Getty Research Institute library catalogue. Plate 1 has dedication: A S.E. il signor Barone di Baltimore, pari d'Irlanda e signore proprietario della provincia di Maryland ed Avalor in America. Copy Notes Bound (2) with a copy of Thomas Major, The ruins of Pæstum, otherwise Posidonia, in Magna Græcia, 1768 (q.v., copy 1). Some pencil annotations. Additionally one loose copy of plate 1 and two loose copies each of plates 3--6 are in a collection of Paestum material assembled for the first edition of Major's book; see SM Concise Catalogue of Drawings, Drawer 60/1/3--11.
