Mr and Mrs N. Basevi of 22 Gower Street, are listed among the subscribers and benefactors; an identification with George Basevi (1794--1845) who was Soane's puil from December 1810 to June 1816 is uncertain. Soane was elected to the vestry of the parish of St Giles-in-the-Fields on 11 February 1802.
