Title-page with Hebrew characters. Includes lists of subscribers to the original fund and the House Committee. The collection of funds began in 1795 and £22,000 had been received by 1806. Joseph Hart Myers served the hospital as physician, and Joshua van Oven as its surgeon. The hospital is illustrated in The Gentleman's Magazine (q.v.), December 1819, pt. I, p. 489.

Copy Notes Bound (1) with copies of the Report of the managers ... for 1813 (q.v.) and 1814 (q.v.). The presence of this material in Soane's library may be connected with the architect David Mocatta (1806--1882), who was apprenticed to Soane from 1821 to 1827 (Bolton, Portrait, p. 299), and the name of whose grandfather Abraham Mocatta (1730--1800) appears in the list of original subscribers to the fund.

Binding C19th half red roan, marbled-paper boards, gilt-ruled spine without label or lettering.
