A translation of the Norwegian-born Danish philosopher, historian and dramatist Baron Ludvig Holberg's Synopsis historiae universalis methodo erotematic exposita, first published in Copenhagen in 1733. The first edition of the English translation by the antiquarian Gregory Sharpe was published in 1755. The plate of the armillary sphere and five folded maps are by Thomas Kitchin. ESTC t130860.
