First edition: 1796. Two final pages of advertisements. Both Soane copies have a printed list (from different settings of type; see copy notes below) of 'New School Books, Published By Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme, Brown, & Green, London' laid down on the front pastedown.
Copy Notes Two copies bought for Soane by Mr Moyes from Longman, Rees, Orme, Brown & Green for 6s., on 31 July 1826 and paid for on 2 August 1826 (Archives 16/12/32/1; 16/12/6), at the same time as copies of Hamel's Exercises (q.v.) and Hamel's Key (q.v.). Both copies inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper John Soane / 1826.
Copy 1: The last item in the printed list of new school books is 'An Introduction to Modern History, ... By W. Jillard Hort. ...'.
Copy 2: The last item in the printed list of new school books is 'An Etymological and Explanatory Dictionary of Words derived from the Latin, ... By Dr. Black. ...'.
