This is the catalogue of the Society's second annual exhibition. Their first exhibition, held the previous year, had consisted of paintings by living artists. Issued with the catalogue are two plates dated 1828 showing the ground-plan and front elevation of the Society's proposed new exhibition rooms in New Street designed by Thomas Rickman and Henry Hutchinson. These were built in 1829.

Copy Notes The catalogue of the 1835 exhibition is tipped in between the rear endpapers (q.v.).

Binding C19th full red linen, front cover with diced russia label, gilt lettered 'Birmingham Society of Arts. Exhibition of ancient pictures. 1828' in gilt double-ruled and roll-tooled borders.
