First edition not traced. The 'Advertisement' is in English and is signed 'R.V.' i.e. Richard Valpy, the headmaster of Reading School whose Elements of the Latin language first appeared in 1782. ESTC t222858.

Copy Notes Upper cover inscribed in ink I. Soane, 1798; and front free-endpaper J. Soane 1798. Rear pastedown inscribed in ink with sums and the name of J. Finch.
