Published in the same year as the French original; another English translation was published in the same year. Includes a preface by the translator. Soane made notes from this book in October 1812 on the relation of climate, geography and architecture. (Archive 1/54, fol. [1]; 1/90/22). The plate is captioned: 'Plan of the Labyrinth of Cnossus, taken from an ancient Stone.' With a final leaf of advertisements. ESTC n18931.
