First edition 1756. Includes 'A Collection Of Masons Songs, With Several Ingenious Prologues and Epilogues. To Which Is Added, Solomon's Temple, An Oratorio [by James E. Weeks]' (pp. [107]--232). Engraved dedication to the Earl of Atholl inserted after title-page, signed by James Jones, followed by a letterpress 'Explanation of the Frontispiece'. Page lvi duplicated in pagination, p. 231 misnumbered 213. Page xlviii of the Soane copy has the text of footnote (9), which breaks off after the third line '... and having' completed in manuscript [5 lines]. ESTC t84745.

Binding C18th red goat, gilt-tooled Greek key borders (to a masonic design), gilt-tooled spine, green morocco spine-label, marbled endpapers, gilt edges.
