Drop-head title. The editor of this short-lived periodical has not been traced and it apparently ceased publication in 1823. Printer's statement from the colophon of 'Vol. II.' at the end of the issue for 31 December 1822. The issue for June 1822 has a frontispiece of 'Moses from a Cast after the original by Michael Angelo, brought from Rome by Mr. Day.' etched by T. March, and three woodcut illustrations in the review of Dibdin's Ædes Althorpianæ, 1822.
Copy Notes A fragmentary run only of six numbers, viz. no. I--II (1 May and 1 June), and VI--IX (1 October--1 December, 31 December). Bought from William Wright for 16s., bill dated Christmas 1822, paid 30 January 1823 (Priv. Corr.XVI.E4:14). Previously stitched and later bound (1) with La Belle Assemblée for February 1810 (q.v.) and inscribed in ink by the binder on front free-endpaper 5 [sic] Nos of Monthly Literary Register / 1822. / 1 No of La Belle Assemblee 1810.
Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spine, black morocco spine-label. Bound by Edwin Hutchinson for 1s. 10d., 28 February 1832. (Archives 7/16/29 Book-binding).
