According to the British Library catalogue, a 1755 reissue of the edition of 1750 (cf. Cohen/de Ricci 263), with the addition of 'Le Triumvirat Ou La Mort De Cicéron, Tragédie.' with half-title, separate pagination and register. Illustrations: frontispiece, title-page vignettes and dedication vignette engraved by Jacques Philippe Le Bas after François Boucher; portrait by Balechou after Aved. Last leaf in tome I is blank.
Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone for 18s., 9th June 1804. (Priv. Corr.E.1.14). The price inscribed in pencil on tome I front free-endpaper with Boone's cyphers. In both volumes Soane's bookplate is laid down over a wreath-and-ribbon style armorial bookplate with motto 'UT PROSIM'.
Binding C18th calf, gilt triple-ruled borders, gilt-tooled spine with floral motifs, red & brown morocco spine-labels, gilt edges, green silk bookmarks.
