First edition of a collection of translations of Greek plays by Aeschylus, Aristophanes, Euripides, Seneca, and Sophocles, analyzed and compared with plays by Racine, Corneille, and Rotrou on similar subjects, by the Jesuit Pierre Brumoy. Title pages in red and black. Engraved title vignettes. Frontispiece engraved by H. Tardieu after Cazes; map of a part of Greece by Henri Liebaux engraved by Borders; plate of coins in vol. III is unsigned. Errata at end of each volume.
