A priced catalogue (956 entries) of a great collection of sixteenth and seventeenth century English books, still cited as a reference for early English literature. The collection had been formed by Thomas Park with additions by Thomas Hill. Park was a central figure in the revival of interest in early English literature, being a close advisor and helper to Ritson, Ellis, Brydges, etc. The advertisement is signed by the compiler: 'A. F. G.' [i.e. Acton Frederick Griffiths]. With a woodcut frontispiece (included in the preliminary pagination) and wood-engraved title-page vignette, portraits and initials. Includes an index.

Binding C19th diced calf, gilt roll-tooled borders, edges and squares, gilt-ruled spine, black morocco spine-label.
