Anonymous. The dedication to Sir Robert Walpole is signed Henry Pemberton. Pemberton, a mathematician and friend of Newton, superintended the third edition of the Principia, 1726. Includes 'A Poem On Sir Isaac Newton', signed by R. Glover ([15] pp. following the preface). With a sixteen-page list of subscribers, and engraved title vignette, head- and tail-pieces and initials signed 'J. Pine' or 'I.P.'. ESTC n64146.

Copy Notes Inscribed on front free-endpaper in a formal hand Cost 5s/ and J. Soane 1769 (the 'e' added after 1783). Manuscript insertions in ink with plate references or textual corrections on pp. 164, 369 and 392.

Binding C18th calf, blind-tooled panels, blind-tooled spine-title.
