Anonymous. The edition statement reading 'The Seventh Edition. With an Appendix, containing several additional Characters' precedes the title on the title-page. The appendix is addressed to Sir Joshua Reynolds by 'The Collector'. This political satire went through fifteen editions in 1779, by which time the work had 'upwards of one hundred and ten portraits' and the appendix was extended by forty additional characters.
