Forms no. XI of Murray's (later Tegg's) 'Family Library'. Title-page vignette of a Spanish galleon. With a frontispiece portrait of Columbus engraved by W.C. Edwards, a portrait of Vespucci engraved by E. Finden, and a folding map engraved by J. & C. Walker. Irving's original Life and voyages of Christopher Columbus was published in 1828 and this abridgement first appeared in 1829. Final leaf of advertisements for the Family Library (recto) and other 'Works Of Washington Irving' (verso), dated 'Albemarle-Street, January, 1830.'.
Copy Notes Largely unopened.
