The printer was Elizabeth Purslowe (see STC, 2nd ed., 7043). The initial leaf is blank. In two parts, with running-titles 'Paradoxes' and 'Problemes', respectively. The first leaf is blank. The Soane copy is a variant without the licences to print on F1v and H4v as recorded in ESTC. ESTC s109980; STC (2nd ed.), 7043; G. Keynes, Bibliography of John Donne, 43.

Copy Notes Ownership inscription in ink at head of title-page is scored through but the name of [Sam.?] Henricii Some [illegible] shows through. Bound (3) with Donne's Letters to severall persons, 1651 (q.v.) and Biathanatos, [1644] (q.v.), both with ownership inscriptions of Henry Some. The volume was bought on Soane's behalf by W. Boone at the sale of the first part of the library of Soane's friend the newspaper editor James Perry, day 7, lot 1484 for 6s. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.4.13; see also annotated copy of the R.H. Evans sale catalogue in the British Library).

Binding C19th sprinkled calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt-tooled spine, green morocco spine-label.
