Anonymous. By Joseph Addison, Sir Richard Steele and others. This is a reprint of issues 1--555 (vols I--VII), originally published 1 March 1711 to 6 December 1712, and issues 556--635 (vol. VIII), mainly by Addison, which had originally appeared 18 June to 20 December 1714. Printer varies: volumes V--VIII are printed by T. Bensley. The title-page vignettes after Francis Hayman are engraved by C. Grignion and S.F. Ravenet. ESTC t123111.

Binding Late C18th marbled tree calf, gilt-tooled spine, marbled endpapers. Uniform with the 1797 set of The tatler (q.v.).
