Printed by J. McCreery (title-page verso and colophons). Published in four editions in 1822; the first French translation appeared in 1823. O'Meara was Napoleon's surgeon on St Helena until dismissed from the service for disparagement of superior officers. The lithographic plate in vol. II of 'The house in which the Emperor Napoleon expired after a confinement of nearly six years' is printed by C. Hullmandel.
