Sequel to Memoirs of the life and adventures of Signor Rozelli, a translation of the Abbé Olivier's anonymously published picaresque novel L'infortuné Napolitain (1704) which was first translated into English from the second French edition as Memoirs of the life and adventures of Signor Rozelli in 1709 (3rd ed. 1725, q.v.). The translation is sometimes attributed to Daniel Defoe. The two final leaves contain a postscript and an advertisement for The lives and amours of the empresse printed for Abel Roper; and sold by S. Ballard and T. Butler. ESTC t139038.

Copy Notes This and the Memoirs bound as two volumes in a set of works by or attributed to Defoe uniformly bound in volumes, which on the evidence of endleaves variously watermarked '1814', '1808', etc. was presumably assembled around 1810--15.

Binding 19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt-tooled spine direct-lettered in gilt 'Defoe's Works' and 'Life Of Rozelli Vol. II.'.
