Printer's name from ESTC. Twenty-two sermons by Richard Sibbes and others. Reprints eleven sermons from the 1629 edition and adds eleven others, of which eight are from Sibbes' The saints safetie in evill times. Some with subsidiary title-pages, having the imprint 'London, printed for R. Davvlman, at the brazen Serpent in Pauls Churchyard. 1637.' Three sermons are identified as the second edition. The first leaf [A1] is blank. ESTC s117278; STC (2nd ed.) 22504.

Copy Notes Inscribed on initial blank leaf in two different hands: Sarah Mill, and 26 August 1661 13d; inscribed on title-page in ink Mark Harrison. With a fragment of a newspaper of c. 1721 loosely inserted at p. 133, dated from the advertisement 'Newly publish'd, The Philosophical Transactions from 1700 to 1720, abridg'd and dispos'd under general Heads. By Mr. Motte.' Benjamin Motte's two-volume abridgment of the Philosophical Transactions was published in 1721.

Binding C17th calf, blind triple-ruled borders, blind double-ruled spine, paper spine-label with MS. title in ink.
