Curatorial note
This watercolour was presented to the Museum in 1971 by the daughters of the late Revd. H. Milne-Walker. On the verso is a label inscribed: Given by Soane to the Princess Murat 1816, bought by me from Mrs Fellden in 1915. HMW.
In the Curator's Diary for 1919, Arthur Bolton records a visit by the owner, probably with the two pictures, on 20 November: 'Revd. Walker 10.30 re Clerisseau. 2 pictures given by Soane to Princess Murat 1816 purchased by him for 12/-'.
