Curatorial note

With tray top on four turned legs with tapered feet; single drop-leaf at the front and a swing looking glass mounted on the back edge on supports which are superficially similar to those on XF13 but are more like elongated balusters than columns; the square mirror swivels on brass pivots with brass butterfly-shaped turning keys (perhaps a later addition); the mirror probably originally operated in the same way as XF13 with oval brass plates with small decorative drop-handles (now missing; see those XF13 on the sides of the central blocks.

In 2015 this dressing table was reinstated in its original position in the recreated Bath Room as part of Phase 2 of Opening up the Soane.
